Duquette Promoted

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has announced the promotion of Malone native and 1987 Franklin Academy graduate, Albert "Sonny" Duquette to the Major Crimes Division as a Detective Sergeant, where he will be working the 32 townships within St. Lawrence County.

Duquette started out his career with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department in 1990.  In May of 1995, he transferred to the Criminal Division of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, where he worked his way through the ranks of Road Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, S.WA.T. Team Member, Police Academy Instructor, Road Patrol Sergeant and now Detective Sergeant.

Along with his new investigatory duties, Duquette will remain the Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor at the David Sullivan Police Academy in Canton, as well as the Lead Regional Instructor-in-charge of Municipal Police Training to officers from the Massena, Potsdam, Ogdensburg, Canton and Gouverneur police departments as well as the Sheriff's patrol. Duquette resides in St. Lawrence County with his wife, Denise and three Children, and is the son of Mary and Albert Duquette of Malone.
